Stories That Spark Magic

Hi! I’m PocketPixie
I’m a 22-year-old girl from London and have quite a few stories now, but I believe I’m most known for Fate’s Game: Will You Win? (Halloween Best Storyteller), Milo and Oscar (Christmas Best Storyteller), and A Monster’s Nightmare, which, in 2024, won the Most Read Story Ever on the app!

Heartbeats in Every Idea

I think something that helps me a lot when it comes to forming ideas is actually the features on the app. It’s always exciting to see new objects and backgrounds being created, and to think of fun and unique ways to use them! Besides that, I know I always want to include some sort of moral meaning or something deeper than the story itself.

From Plot to Panels

Before I start a story, I always have the plot planned out. I’m someone who loves to know exactly how a story is going to begin and end, and then the middle can always be experimented with. I often find myself halfway through a story and coming across a funny character action that I hadn’t seen before and then feel a desperate need to include it. So yeah, I have the basics down, and then all the intricacies and details can come much later!

Every Panel Counts

I do sometimes rework panels, but they’re usually small details rather than plot changes. It can take me anywhere from 50 minutes to 3 hours to write an episode—I think it’s because sometimes I can be picky and need to make my panels look super realistic or be perfectly positioned. I forget that probably nobody’s looking as closely at my panel designs as I am!

From Doubt to Success

When I first hit the publish button, I had reread the episode like 50 times until I was super happy with it. I remember the reason why I did click ‘publish’ was that I had convinced myself nobody was even going to read it anyway. Crazy to think now how one of my stories has the most reads… I would’ve never been able to predict that!

Inspiring Through Others

I like to read other people’s stories when I’ve hit writer’s block to get inspiration. I also like to see how other people use the app. I’ve noticed most writers are a lot more artsy than I am—they love the designs and crazy panel work. I think I’ve gotten better, but I know my main focus will always be on the story itself and the overall meaning.

Future Adventures

Well, currently I’m working on a story where I actually get lost inside the app with all my other stories. After this, I might go back to the whole creepy/horror genre, I think those are so fun! On my profile, you’ll discover all sorts of stories: comedy, romance, fantasy, sci-fi, horror etc. One thing they all have in common is a deep meaning and different ways they can be interpreted. The reader can easily understand and appreciate the story on a surface level, but it’s also super cool when you look deeper and think in ways that you haven’t before
